Lucie Payoux is born in Paris, she lives and work in Aarhus, Danemark. As space exploration today relies on 3D-visualisations of potential exocolonies, early biology studies depended on artistic representations to communicate scientific knowledge of discovered organisms. Technological advances has made this relation less obvious in biology, but the lost interdependency can again be relevant when today organisms are less discovered than endangered or extinct: Saber-tooth tigers on cave walls or prototaxites on canvas.
Lucie Payoux represents organisms who enters fictive compositions, creating climates of tension where the boundaries of past and future, reality and fabrication are questioned in a Biological Science Fiction.
